Tutu’s are great for every occasion, especially birthdays. A colorful tutu can add color to your baby’s overall outfit, which can look great in birthday pictures. In this tutorial, I will help you create a fluffy, perky tutu for you little angel’s birthday. So, are you ready?
1. Measure your elastic and cut it according to your baby’s waist size. After the cutting, stitch the two ends of the elastic. The result should look something like the image below.
2. Find something to hold the plastic. A hanger will work fine.
3. Time to cut! Now, grab the tulle and measure and cut according to the size you wish to create for the tutu. The preferable size for the tutu is about 9 inches, but you can choose the size that best suits your baby’s measurements.
Note: Create several pieces of different tulle. I used Paris pink, white and rosette for the tutu.
4. If you are using different color tulle, group the different tulles together and tie a knot around the elastic that you measured and cut earlier.
5. Similarly, grab the other group of tulle and tie a knot.
6. Keep tying the knots until there is no more space left on the elastic. Make sure that you leave enough room for a clip while you tie knots.
7. The result would look something like the images shown below.
8. Do not worry, you are almost done. Now use a ribbon to make small loop that would easily fit around the elastic.
9. Stitch the ribbon loop to the elastic.
10. Now, grab a clip bow and simply attach it to the ribbon.
