Six Steps For A Perfect Tuxedo.

Jan 20,2017

Tux never goes out of fashion. And there is good reason for that. Tuxedos are the sure shot way of looking stunning. No matter what your height, weight or general fashion choice is, you can always rock a Tux like a movie star. However, that blessing doesn’t come without its conditions. There are some rules you need to follow to allow the Tux make you look fabulous. Here is a brief description of these rules.

Black Jacket

No Tux is complete without this lavish evening jacket. Over the ages the tux has come a long way from the tailcoat to this standard jacket. The modern day accompanying jacket with a tuxedo is generally single-breast and has glossier lapels as compared to the rest of the suit. Some jackets could also be double-breast but these are not recommended since the major part of looking good in a tux is the level of comfort that you can achieve and single-breast offers more openness to achieve that. Furthermore, with double-breast you might have to skip the waistcoat altogether and that defeats the purpose of wearing a tux as opposed to a plain suit.

Black Trousers

These are used in a comparatively more variety that the type of jackets. Some events specifically ask for trousers with piping on the sides while others require a smooth single material. You can accentuate the look by using lavish materials for piping such as silk or satin, but make sure that it is coordinated with the lapels in your jacket.

Black Waistcoat

Waistcoats or cummerbunds are worn to add the sliming effect and to hide the trousers’ waistbands. If you are wearing suspenders then waistcoats are a necessary element to hide those too. However, do not pull over your waist coat on your belt. That will create a bump and tone down the fitting effect of the Tux altogether.

White Dress Shirt

Needless to say, white is the color for you here. The tux dress shirt is mostly made of cotton material and has black buttons with turndown collars. Wear silver or golden cufflinks to really bring out the white shirt.

Black Bow Tie (Or Tie)

This is the risky part where you should make sure that you know how to tie a proper bow or ask for help. You can go with the modern day trendy butter-fly bow or the vintage classy bat-wing bow. Avoid the clip around bows to the maximum because the tux is supposed to add mature style to your attire, not haphazard fashion following.

Ties are normally worn with normal odd jackets and bows are worn with evening jackets. So keep that in mind when you are dressing up for a black-tie event.

Black Oxfords

There is simply no question of what shoes to wear with a Tuxedo. Bring out your finest black oxfords and put them on with rest of your on point items. While the tux itself is among the premium dressings, shoes take the lead here too. Do not mess up your footwear or you will make the entire tux lose its ability to make you shine.

It is also advisable to have a tailored fitted tuxedo. The fitting clothes always make you look better and a loose jacket or trousers will make you look lazy and not at all cool.
