Women love heels, in all shapes, colors, sizes and designs. We already talked about stilettos, sling backs, pumps and chunky heels. Now we are going to see and learn about some more types of heels loved by women all around the world.
Kitten Heels
Remember classic pictures of Audrey Hepburn. She has these heels on. These are cute little heels with an inch of height and a whole lot of comfort. They are as perfect for informal attire as they are for office clothing. You can get all the style minus the discomfort of big heels.
Ankle Straps
These are like sling backs in their properties of holding the shoe in place and preventing slipping. Only their support is provided from the front part of ankle instead of backside. These are perfect pairs with skirts or saaris. Furthermore, this feature of ankle straps is available in a range of heels so you can play with style while securing the comfort of straps.
Platform Heels
These are among the most common and most popular types of longer heels chosen by heel lovers. These are the alternatives to stilettos, only better because there is an added layer under the base of the front part of the shoes which makes the incline of the foot lower but gives all the style of long heels.
Wedge Heels
This is a mixture of stilettos and platforms with the added feature of the thick base covering the entire base. This is slightly more difficult to walk in but provide a lot more support and comfort than either of the two aforementioned alternatives.
Spool And French Heels
As the name implies, the spool heels are similar to a spool. These have a rather skewed appearance with a relatively wider base and upper portion but squeezed in the middle. French heels are spool heels with a more pronounced curve. Both these types of heels are common for semi-formal or traditional attires are very comfortable to wear.
Mules
Mules are the center point for boots and heels and were the hit in the nineties. They are covered from the top of the foot and open from the back giving the shape of the sandal from the back. As any other trend, these are now hitting the fashion bloc again.
It is important to note that these types are not always mutually exclusive. For instance mules can have wedge heels and platforms usually come with an ankle strap. However, these are the most common types of heels that are loved and worn across the globe, so next time you go shopping you can be sure to point out your favorite style as a pro and carry your style statement with confidence.
